"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." ~Coco Chanel
Chinese filmmaker Wong Kar Wai shared those famous words by Coco Chanel this morning at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where a crowd of editors had gathered for the first look at The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass.
“Those remarks from Coco Chanel remind me how close the Eastern and Western concepts can be. Instead of reinforcing the differences, I hope this show will be a chance to bring our two cultures together.”
The exhibit will be opening on May 7th this year. To read more about the exhibit click here at East Meets West.
